trayson, you are the first person that I have seen provide rational and mature feedback and I truly respect you for that. I will try to return the favor by providing (to my capabilities) as unbiased an oversight of the current situation as possible.

Although I have not been with the academy for as long as the others, I would like to believe that I understand enough of how it functions to provide a satisfactory response to your queries.

Hanso, I know this is your thread but I feel urged to respond to this. I apologize if I have made a mistake in any part in my response, please correct me where necessary.

But I think you'll guys are just inviting people to gripe and moan about your prices.
Average Consumer's view

In the eyes of the average person, academy prices are many times what they would expect to be paying. This is usually due to them having paid a pug runner for a similar run. This is usually where the bulk of the misunderstandings come from.

Runner's view

As a runner, would you pick up a single passenger in town and perform a tedious run? I can assure you that most runners will make every attempt to stall for time or only leave once they have a full party of customers.

This is also the basis of how prices are set, with each LBS runner having they're take on their own strengths and capabilities. Each LBS service provider has spent a considerable amount of time and effort exploring, practicing, studying spawn patterns and researching methods in getting the job done as smoothly as humanly possible in areas such as (but not limited to) skill capping, running and mission completion.

Similar to how you would choose taking a budget airline over a regular flight service. Customers have chosen our services because they have experienced the convenience and standards that we are able to offer.

The older graduates are naturally more experienced and have made informed choices on their prices. This would be similar to wanting a seat in business class on an airlines flight.

Those that have experienced it swear by it. Those that have not, say it’s a waste of money, and those that are not able to afford it, accuse the airline company of selfish capitalism.

Competitors' view

Similar to any industry, there is fierce competition amongst competitors, some leading to corporate espionage and sabotage.

Although this has been mentioned many times before, most either choose to disregard it or have forgotten that it has been stated before.

We do not choose our customers, our customers chooses us.

We are not forcing our prices on anyone, nor are we holding a gun to anyone’s head, or shoving it down anyone's throat, or.. you get the idea.

We understand that there are alternatives out there, and I am very certain that anyone who has played the game and has considered using a runner, knows that there are alternatives out there. As it is, there are numerous running threads in this service section alone, not to mention of the hundreds of spam-in-town runners out there.

What they do not know however, is what LBS stands for and why we charge the kind of prices we do. I beg to differ when I say that I believe it is the, informed people, that choose to employ our services, and not those who do not know of such alternatives.

I agree with you trayson, everything has a different worth to a different person under the circumstances he or she is under. Some value their money, some value life/game experiences, others value their family, and some value their time.

This goes both ways, for the runner as well as the customer. Would a runner carry on providing a service if he or she can make more by doing something else (e.g. uw/fow farming), and would a customer spend more time trying to achieve something when the time spent could be put to better use?

I conclude, leaving the above for you to consider.

You know you hit a soft spot with someone when they breakdown every sentence you posted. I wouldn't say it's a war Hanso just merely a disagreement.

Free bump for you. Maybe this will help you get you another customer and also another set of fissure armor.

Usually when immature kids flame away, I'd just put them down then and there.

Unlike others, I have seen that you have tried to put things in perspective and made an effort to try and discuss the possible areas of interest.

I've tried my best to provide you an adequate response, I feel that you deserve at least that much for being mature about it.

The next person to post in this thread not requesting a service or leaving feedback is going to get a nice long vacation from these forums.

You have been warned.

Hi, need dunes of despair completed (not bothered about bonus), unsure of your price however but looking about the forums I reckon 30k is probably about right, if not just ignore. My IGN is Bose Einstein and I'm on most of the time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: Ignore as this run no longer wanted.

three days ago i made a appointment with craig for a fow armor run and he said either hanso or him can do the run for me the next day, but then, no one ever mesg me back =(

i m tired of trying to make appointments now, cuz its pointless, ppl dont show up, or simply forget about them.

great service and attitude but sometimes itll be better if you can give me a time and actually stick up to it.
Sorry about that. I get so many whispers and so does Craig that sometimes we miss responding to one or 2 people. As a way of making it up to you, I'll take you on a FoW or Mission run free of charge. I'll try to get in touch with you in game this evening when I get back from Superman. Again, my apologies, and it is not an attitude or pride thing, we just get so busy that we neglect to respond to everyone.

Id like to apologize as well. I was in the middle of a Fissure run last night with 3 customers when you whispered me and I could hear the frustration in your voice. Im truly sorry. I alway try to make notes about who requests the run and who is next in line. I am putting you on my friends list and Hanso and I will whisper you for the next spot. Please understand that the whole having favor thing and having 5 competent players on, as well as the customer on all at the same time is still a logistical nightmare.
More importantly, the character Kenshin Kai no longer exists. What is your IGN?

Default Feedback

Just used Hanso's services to get FoW armor. Being a tank it's hard to get into a group most times. Forget the armor though, the real value was getting to watch a very efficient and effective group smoothly deal with mobs. Getting the armor was nice, but getting an education on how a cohesive group can run over mobs was outstanding.
